Interview Between Piggy's Aunt and Ralph

Aunt:

Nice to meet you, Ralph! Every morning when I get up I feel sad because there is no Piggy calling me in the morning anymore. Sometimes I can’t believe how you and the boys began to act on the deserted island. You would think that a group of English boys would be more sensible. How did Piggy act while on the deserted island

Ralph:

Piggy was very smart and he always gave me some useful ideas. He usually mentioned you to us and tried to following your instructions about his asthma.  He missed you a lot and wanted to go back to London and stay with you. He was very friendly to the other boys even when they weren’t very nice.

Aunt:

Thank you for letting me know that Piggy though of me. Piggy was always very nice to other children, but for some reason they never liked him very much. Thank you for being his friend and taking care of him. Were the other boys nice to Piggy?

Ralph:

No, the other boys always laughed at him because of he was fat and had asthma. We used Piggy’s glasses as burning glasses to light our fires and Jack stole his glasses at night and hit him. We never listed to Piggy, even though he has the best and most sensible ideas.  We were always telling him to shut up.

Aunt:

I’m so sad to hear that. I hope he felt useful and happy before he passed away. Piggy always had good ideas, but he had trouble getting people to listen to him.  He was too shy and sensitive. How did Piggy die?

Ralph:

Piggy died while he was trying to stop the argument between Jack and Ione of the boys used a stick to unbalance a very large rock above the mountain. It fell and hit Piggy on the head. I feel guilty about him and want to say I’m so sorry to you about not taking better care of Piggy.

Aunt:

Piggy would be proud of having you as a friend. He must have cared about you and thought you were the best person to be leader. Otherwise he wouldn’t have tried to stop the argument between you and Jack. I hope you have learned from this Ralph and can go on to do good things in the world. Piggy would have wanted you to continue being a person that can lead people towards the right direction.
